Forex Market Sessions Clock
Which sessions are open right now, when the next one starts, and when gold actually moves. Live, in your time zone.
When gold and the majors actually move
Forex trades 24 hours a day, five days a week, but liquidity is not spread evenly. Most of the day’s range on gold and the major pairs gets printed in a few specific windows. Scalping outside them means paying the same spread for a fraction of the movement.
- Sydney and Tokyo (Asian session): the quietest window for gold and EUR/USD. Ranges are tight, and the Asian high and low become the liquidity levels London will test. USD/JPY and AUD pairs are the exception.
- London open: the first big injection of volume. Breakouts of the Asian range and the first real trend of the day usually start here.
- London and New York overlap: the most liquid window of the day. US data releases land here, and gold makes a large share of its daily range.
- Late New York: volume fades after London closes. Moves slow down, and spreads widen into the daily rollover.
How the clock works
Each session is calculated in its own city’s local time, so daylight saving changes in London, New York and Sydney are handled automatically. Times for the next open or close are shown in your own time zone. The market is closed from Friday 17:00 to Sunday 17:00 New York time.
Use it with a plan
A session clock tells you when to be at the screen, not what to trade. The weekly Market Structure plan and the setups in the Free channel are timed around these windows, so you know which zones matter before the session starts.
